Number talks help students build and strengthen mental math and computation strategies.
It is used throughout the grades but most frequently in grades K and 1.
Talk Frame with Mrs. Hackett
Talk Frame is an extension of Number Talks. It is a routine that second grade scholars use to "dig deeper" in their Mathematical understandings. They get time to Think-solve a problem on their own...Share their thinking with others and Talk about how and why they solved a problem a certain way.....then we come together as a community to a common understanding of the most efficient way to solve a problem....correct misconceptions and always being sure we attend to precision and our answer is correct.

2. Math Flash Cards *- include the * in the title. You can customize the operation and the level of difficulty.
3. Math Monsters Bingo- this app includes all operations!
Remember: Counting is one of the most important skills you can do with your budding Math Scholar!
Try fun ways of counting to build number sense and number order......by 1s, 2s, 5s, 10s, 100s, starting from a non-routine number to another...for example, skip count be 2s starting with 25!
